Inspiration by the inkpot-ful
In this update I wanted to share with you the amazing art workshop I recently had the privilege of organising and leading at an SSP school. Last week students gathered for Education Week to celebrate all things education and show appreciation to the professionals that impart wisdom on an almost daily basis showing their commitment and passion for learning. We as a collective assisted in the celebration of education and facilitated an art workshop that enhanced our creative muscles.
The workshop revolved around the theme of nature and its beauty. Through a blend of practical exercises, hands-on demonstrations, we embarked on a transformative exploration of collage and pattern art.
Throughout the workshop, we delved into a wide range of artistic mediums, including paint, ink, pencils, collaging materials creating mixed media artworks. From paints and stamping tools, we expressed our ideas in a painterly form.
One of the most beautiful aspects of this workshop was the sense of connection from student to be able to open their minds to the process and trust their instincts. It was heart-warming to witness the enthusiastic exchange of ideas and meaningful connections that formed during the session.
Reflecting on the workshop, I am humbled and grateful for the immense talent and passion that each student brought to the table. Their inherent creativity, coupled with the guidance and encouragement provided, resulted in a collection of remarkable artworks which was showcased at the end of the week for their peers and family to enjoy.
The atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter, and a collective appreciation for the transformative power of art and as the art workshop came to a close, I felt an overwhelming sense of accomplishment and fulfillment. The workshop had provided a platform for not only honing artistic skills but also for personal growth, self-reflection, and a renewed sense of inspiration. The engagement from the students was overwhelming and I hope they feel more inspired to be more creative in their thinking.
